Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 25^th October Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Mart.

The store cattle trade at Lockerbie Auction Market goes from strength to strength. Despite a smaller show there was a larger appetite for cattle, even the smaller end has taken a lift in the recent weeks. Bullocks sold to 313ppk from Messrs Fitzsimons, Tregallon for a 7 month old Limousin. Limousin Heifers were up to 263ppk for a 19 month old from Messrs Richardson, Purdomstone. Bullocks topped at £1300 from Messrs Ritchie, Middlebiehill. Messrs Richardson of Purdomstone had heifers to £1240 while Hereford heifers sold to £1180 from Messrs Maxwell of Craighousesteads.
