Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘C’ District ram sale - Day 2

Harrison & Hetherington held the second day of the annual Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘C’ District ram sale on Thursday, where 359 shearlings rams were on offer.  

The sale topped at £30,000 for a shearling ram consigned by Messrs Rukin, West Stonesdale, Richmond which sold to Messrs Cowperthwaite, Tennant Gill Farm, Settle.

Next selling to £22,000 was the overall champion on the day from Messrs Richardson, Ghyll House, Dufton which went on to sell to Messrs Hutchinson, Redgate, Kirkby Stephen with Messrs Richardson, Ghyll House retaining a share in the ram.

Messrs Hallam, High Birkwith, Houghton in Riversdale sold a ram to £18000 selling to Messrs Robinson, Catlow, Slaidburn and Messrs Brogden, Helbeck Farm, Brough.

Messrs Hird Shepherds Lodge, Arkengarthdale sold rams to £18000 selling to Messrs Cowperthwaite, Howith Farm, Austwick.

314 rams sold averaged £2086.15.
