On Thursday 20th October Harrison and Hetherington held its fortnightly sale of store lambs in Lazonby Market. A show of 1232 was presented to a ringside of buyers with an average of £62.79 being achieved. This was also possible with nearly half the sale being Swaledale lambs. Topping the sale was a pen of 7 beltex lambs from Mike and Marie Faulder, Ewin close selling for £114. Texel lambs topped at £110 from the same farm as well as Mr Walton, Rise Head. Suffolk’s topped at £90 from Willie Lee, Lintley Farm. Mules saw the biggest rise with top price coming from S Brown, Bow Hall for a pen of 28 for £82. Swaledales topped at £50 from Messrs Green, the hill fro a pen of 32. A good show was presented for this time of year. If lambs continue to come we will remain open after our last scheduled sale in a fortnight.
