Borderway Sale of Store Cattle & Weanlings

STORE CATTLE – Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of 377 store cattle.  Buyers returned in their droves this week with 36 successful buyers ringside, thus ensuring the maximum returns were achieved for all vendors cattle.

Messrs Holliday & Graham, Bolton Wood Lane, Wigton lead the days trading at £1770 with a majestic British Blue x heifer which was purchased by Ross Towers.  Bullocks sold to £1760 and £1740 for a Limousin x from Messrs Slack, Newby, Carlisle.  Friesians sold to £1280 for a pair from Messrs Harrington, Wellington Farm, Aspatria.

WEANED CALVES –  The ringside was busy in Ring 4 as once again a huge variety of all types and quality sold extremely well.  Bulls started off the day in a good fashion topping at £1170 from Messrs Twentyman, Osborne Farm.   Others were up to £1100 from Messrs Slaven, Foregirth.  Limousin heifers sold to £1000 from Messrs Eve, Stubbsgill and £980 from Messrs McGarva, Barwhanny Farm.  Bullocks topped at £1270 from Osborne Farms who also had two others at £1160.  Plenty of cattle are coming forward for next weeks sale on the back of todays strong trade.
