Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 9^th November Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves. British Blue bulls were in demand today topping the trade at £460 was from I & GM Blamire, Mid Whinnow for a seriously strong calf. Messrs Corlett, Skiddaw View topped the Limousin section at £445 for an outstanding bull.

Fleckvieh’ s sold well to £300 from Messrs Henderson, East Bowhill and Angus’s met a nice trade at £430 from Messrs Elwen, Netherfield Farm. Herefords topped at £270 from Messrs Baynes, Marleycote Walls the same vendor also topped the Ayrshire section at £200 respectfully.

Strong Heifers were a good trade with young heifers meeting some resistance. Topping the heifer trade was £420 twice for British Blues which were consigned by Elwen, Netherfield who was up to £420 three times and Messrs Bowe, Chalk Lodge. Messrs Corlett topped the Limousin section at £405. Messrs Baynes, Marleycote topped the Hereford section at £380 and Angus’s topped at £230 from Fauld Farm.
