STORE CATTLE – Another pleasing seasonal entry of 377 Store cattle were forward at our weekly sale which once again saw strong support ring side with more buying options than other outlets can provide. A fabulous Limousin x heifer from Messrs Cowx, Hudscales, Wigton lead the prices this week selling at £1800. A tremendous Charolais x bullock from Messrs Fisher, Lairdlaugh, Castle Douglas led this section selling at £1700. Native Cattle sold to £1480 for an Angus from Messrs Hebson, Chapel Farm, Cotehill.

WEANED CALVES – Ring 4 saw a full ring side with all types of cattle very well bid for. Bulls sold up to £1120 from Messrs MacDonald, Ladyhousesteads and £1100 from Messrs Coates, Beckhall for Limousins. Hereford bulls topped at £900 from Messrs Marrs. Limousin bullocks were up to £1090 from Messrs Edmondson, Manesty. Limousin heifers sold to £1010 from the same home. British Blue heifers sold to £1080 from Messrs Maughan, Beck Farm. More cattle required next week to meet current demand.
