Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 16^th November Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves.  A smaller show of calves were forward which met a similar trade throughout.  Topping the sale was a British Blue heifer from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House selling for £440.  The same price was achieved from Messrs Pigg & Son, Gaitsgill again for a Blue heifer.  Mr Pickering, Fairspring, Northumberland sold a pedigree Limousin heifer for £375.  British Blue steers topped at £395 from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House for a strong flashy pair.  Aberdeen Angus steers topped at £420 from J & R Ramsey, Castle Douglas.  Dairy calves topped at £225 for a Fleckvieh bull from Andrew Vance, Newton Stewart.  A good show of calves were present with many more needed to satisfy demand.
