Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 23rd November Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves with an entry of 293.  A much larger show was presented with stronger calves being easily sold with younger calves meeting resistance.  A strong ring side of buyers were looking for all classes of calves.  Topping the sale was a Limousin steer calf from DJ Livingstone, Kirtlevale selling at £500.  British Blues steer calves topped at £470 from Mr C Harrington, Mounsey Bank, Penrith. Blue heifers topped at £390 from T W Martin, Tempest Tower, Carlisle.   Limousin heifers topped at £325 from J J & JD Graves, Priory Farm.   Angus bulls calves topped at £465 from Messrs McKie, Wedholme Hill.  Dairy calves topped at £170 from W & D Threlkeld, Ladywells, Lockerbie.
