The ZSA 18th annual Premier Sale was held at H&H, Carlisle on Friday 5th August, and the trade was on fire as 21 sheep smashed the 1000gns mark, with a good ringside of potential buyers they fought it out to buy the top price of the day at 4,800gns where G L Owen purchased Lot 77 Hayberries Kane Consigned by P & S Addison. This tup lamb was set to impress after previously winning breed champion at the Great Yorkshire Show 2022.
Following him was pre sale shows male champion Wallridge Moor Jax this shearling ram consigned by C Anderson fell under the hammer at 2,800gns to J Smyth.
Closely behind was 5th prize ram lamb who caught the eye of Messrs Marwick and Messrs Mcintosh when they went a half share for ram lamb Barmurrie K2 consigned by M D Smith at 2,400gns.
Topping the females was Cernyw Jackpot who lived up to her name selling for 2500gns this shearling gimmer was consigned by G & L Owen and purchased by Messrs Heigh, Lancaster.
Closely followed by the overall champion Joyfield Jagerbomb consigned by J & N Millar selling for 1800gns to Messrs Young, Perth.
