A good entry of sheep was forward for sale which provided a good selection of animals for the buyers. With a lot of pre-sale interest fingers were crossed for a good sale which was proven to be the case on sale day with a good trade across the board.
In the pre sale show there were some very strong classes put forward for the judge – Mr R Barnes. In the Shearling Ram class Lot 305 took first place with Lot 306 in Second place and Lot 313 in third. The Ram lamb class was another strong class with Lot 338 in first place, Lot 329 in second and Lot 334 in third. Moving onto the Shearling Ewe class a good entry once again with Lot 363 taking first place Lot 362 in second and Lot 357 in third. The last of the classes was the Ewe Lambs with Lot 374 in first, Lot 368 second and Lot 367 in third.
Taking Male champion was lot 338 from Mr B Evans with Female champion going to lot 362 from Messrs Cockbain & Sons. Supreme champion wen to Mr B Evans with Lot 338 and Reserve Supreme champion gong to Mr E Burgess Lot 329.
Top price of the day went to Mrs J Bett with her shearling ram Yarburgh World Class selling to Messrs Mclaren for 1350gns. Closely followed by her gimmer Yarburgh Whisperer selling for 1100gns topping the female trade for the day.
The Ram Lambs topped at 850gns from Messrs Cockbain & Sons, he was sired by Janos Vulture out of a Rakefoot Ewe selling to M R Williams.
