Borderway Sale of Store Cattle & Weanlings

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 30th November 2022 Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Store cattle another great entry of 430 head were sold in the regions premier store cattle centre.  All classes sold to a flying trade throughout the sale which was led by a fantastic Limousin x bullock at £1570 from Messrs Deane, Rigg Head, Kirklinton who also lead the heifers at £1550.

Dairy bred Blue cattle sold to £1520 for bullocks from Messsrs Rudd, Grassings, Kirkbride with heifers to £1375 from the same vendor.  Stuart Nixon, Ribton House, Workington sold a run of 12 Holstein bullocks in 3 pens of 4 at £1410, £1390 and £1350 to average £1383.33

WEANED CALVES – Ring four continues to meet growing demand week on week for younger cattle with cattle from Morpeth to Girvan making the journey to Borderway.  Bulls topped at £1300 for a Limousin from Messrs Dempster, Castlehill.  The same home had a Charolais bull at £1270.  British Blue bullocks sell to £990 from Messrs Smith, Low Meadow and Limousins to £950 from Messrs Furlong, Ridley Farm.  Limousin heifers sold to £1120 from Messrs Henshall, Sarkshields who also had others at £1110 and £1050.
