Borderway Store and Weaned Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 7^th December 2022 Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Store cattle with a great entry of 373 forward to an increased ring side of buyers which ensured all classes being good to sell. Messrs Story, Blackrigg run of Limousin x bullocks and heifers topped at £1580 for a bullock and £1580 and £1540 for heifers.  Messrs Brown, Wilson Park Farm sold a Limousin x bullock for £1570 and Messrs Kyle, Spout Bank sold the top priced Charolais x bullock for £1550.  Messrs Fishwick & Son, Thornship Farm, sold Limousin x heifers for £1550 and £1540 and £1500.  Claremont Properties run of cattle topped at £1540 again for a Limousin x heifer.

WEANED CALVES – The trade for bulls, bullocks and heifers continues to rise in ring number 4.  Bulls started the sale with a tremendous trade much better on the week once again.  Topping the sale today was a  Limousin bull selling  at £1240 from Messrs Cowx, Hudscales.  Bullocks sold to £990, £980 and £960 for Limousins from Messrs Harrison, Tailbert.  Heifers also a good trade up to £870 from the same home.  More numbers required to meet ever growing demand.
