Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of cast and OTM cattle.
Topping the sale at £1924 was a 800kg British Blue cross cow which made 240.5p/kg from Messrs Brown, Asby Hall, Great Asby purchased by Owain Llyr, Rhuthun.
Messrs Brown also sold another 776kg Limousin cross cow to make 240.5p/kg totalling £1866.28, and another 783kg British Blue cross cow to make 239.5p/kg adding up to £1875.29.
Topping at 245.5p/kg was a 752kg British Blue cow which came to £1846.16 from Messrs PW Simpson, Highscale Farm, Wigglesworth.
Holstein Friesian cows topped at £1220.45 from Messrs Sowerby, Town Head Farm, Drybeck.
All classes of cows were described as the dearest seen for some time, with an unbelievable sale average of 185.03p/kg and £1296.59!
