Borderway Sale of Store Cattle & Weanlings

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 14^th December 2022 Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Store cattle with a small show forward to a very keen ring side of buyers which ensured an improved trade again at Carlisle.  Messrs Rudd & Sons, Grassing Farm sold the top priced British Blue bullock for £1490.  Messrs Fishwick & Son, Thornship Farm, sold a Limousin x bullock for £1460.  Messrs Byers, Gimmenbie sold the top priced Angus bullock for £1390.  The top priced Simmental cross bullock sold for £1380 from Messrs Ritchie, Middlebiehill.  In the heifer section Messrs Batty, Flimby Hall sold Limousin crosses to £1470 £1420 and £1400.

WEANED CALVES – Trade continues to rise at Borderway for weaned cattle and bulls.  Bulls topped at £1290 and £1280 from Messrs Dempster, Castlehill.  British Blue bullocks topped at £1200 from Messrs Carr, Whiteclose Rigg while British Blue heifers were up to £1280 from W Hughes, Dona Close.  Limousin heifers sell to £1130 from the same home.  Holsteins were up to £1090 again from Messrs Carr, Whitecloserigg.
