Borderway Prime Sheep Sale

PRIME SHEEP: On Tuesday 27^th of December, Harrison & Hetherington held a sale of prime lambs & cast sheep in Borderway. A total of 1414 lambs went under the hammer to a larger ringside of buyers, an average of 254ppk was achieved with an SQQ of 256p. Top price was a pen of 3 54kg Texels from EM Johnstone, Springfield selling for £146. Beltex lambs topped at £150 from WJ, Corrie & Son, Shank Castle for a single lamb. Dutch Texel’s topped at £143 for a trio weighing 42kg from R & M Scott, Thirlwall Castle. Cheviots topped at £131 from Jim Reid, Bengall. Mules were harder to place with top price coming from W & B Nichol, Lawston who sold 30 at 51 kilos to £119. Suffolk’s topped at £145 for a pen of 12 from WM & DW Hutton, Fern House weighing 53 kilos to £145.
