Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 8th February Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 551 Store cattle, another marvellous show in terms of quantity but in terms of quality, cattle wouldn’t possess the power, age and finish of recent weeks which affected averages slightly but make no mistake trade was as hot as ever.

Messrs Robinson, Pelutho, Wigton sold a marvellous run of cattle to average £1940 a head including the top bullock at £2100 and the top priced heifer at £2000.  Native cattle sold to £1850 from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Brampton.

Yearling cattle topped at £1580 for an excellent Limousin x heifer from first time vendors Messrs Metcalfe, Holme House Farm also sold a great run of 50 all the way from Carnforth.
