Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday 22nd February Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 508 Store cattle.  The sale would be the dearest seen yet with bullocks averaging £1410.05 and every type, size and shape sold with ease.  Messrs Henshall, Sarkshields, Lockerbie topped the sale at £2200 with a Pure Limousin heifer and averaged £2025 for four.  Bullocks sold to £1950 for a great feeding sort from Messrs Fisher, Lairdlaugh, Castle Douglas.  Native bullocks sold to £1850 for an Angus shown by Messrs Nichol, Lawston, Newcastleton.  Dairy bullocks to £1580 for British Friesians from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall and Montbeliardes from Messrs Addison, Greystoke House.
