EVENING HOLSTEINS LEAD THE WAY AT BORDERWAY

The March Borderway Monthly Dairy Day sale once again had both quality and quantity for buyers to select from.  Buyers from the north of Scotland to the south of Wales saw the trade top at £3700 to average £2150 per life.      

Agri-King sponsored the March sale with the top price going to the Evening herd of the Wilson family from Evening Farm.  Evening Lighthouse Jennifer sold for 2,700gns she was freshly calved in her first and was giving 38kgs and was sired by Westcoast Lighthouse.  This exceptional consignment from Evening Holstein averaged over £3000.

The Nydie herd from Clackmae Farm in Berwickshire sold a tremendous group of 20 freshly calved heifers and topped £2800 for Nydie Montana Alison. 

British Friesian topped at £2350 for a second lactation cow consigned by the Neil family from Thornington Farm in Northumberland.

The sale included a special Production Sale for the Netherside Holstein herd owned by the Yuill family who farm near Strathaven.  This quality group of cows and heifers averaged £2171 and topped at 2,800gns for Netherside Angle 3, she was sired by Welcome Legendary and had been classified VG85 as a two year old.
