Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £2668.63 was a 925kg pure British Blue cow which made 288.5p/kg from Messrs Boocock, Yore selling to Owain Llyr, Rhuthin.

This same home also sold another pure British Blue cow weighing 895kg to make 284.5p/kg adding up to £2546.28 also selling to Owain Llyr.

Topping at 293.5p/kg was a British Blue cross cow from Messrs Birkbeck, Castle Hill, Soulby.

Dairy Cows topped at £1754.56 for a 803kg Holstein Frisian cow which made 218.5p/kg from Messrs Hastwell, The Buildings Farm, Kaber.

This same home also sold 720kg Holstein Frisian cows to make 215.5p/kg totalling £1551.60.

Trade just keeps getting dearer and dearer with an unbelievable overall sale average of 215.35p/kg and £1445.38 being achieved.
