Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE –   Store trade shows no signs of easing with all classes of cattle again been subjected to fierce competition ringside.  Bullocks sold to average £1463.27 and heifers £1353.67 with an overall average of £1420.11

Alan Twentyman, Osborne Farm, Wigton chose Borderway to market his stores this week with a fantastic consignment leading the days trading at £2700, £2600 and £2500 (x2) with his 8 heifers averaging £2456.25 and 10 in total levelling at £2239 per head.  Messrs Fisher, Lairdlaugh, Castle Douglas sold the leading bullock at £1980 and £1960 for Charolais with 6 averaging £1836.67

Messrs Chalmers, Outer Wood Head sold store in Borderway for the first time in 20 years and lead the Native at £1820 for a pair of Angus bullocks with Simmentals to £1875 to average £1779.00
