Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 15th March Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.

British Blue bull calves have never been so dear within the market, with the trade topping at a whopping £650 from Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig, for a cracking strong British Blue. Messrs Fox, Windy Hill sold up to £480 for a Limousin bull calf and regular consignor’s Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower sold to £560 in the Aberdeen Angus section, with Shorthorns to £405 from Messrs Dixon, High House. Holstein Friesians sold to £260 from Messrs Gate, Burton House.

Heifers were met by a pleasing trade with British Blues selling to £560 twice from Messrs Wadsworth, Big Balcraig and Messrs Wadsworth topping the Aberdeen Angus trade at £435 twice. Messrs Forrest, Meinfoot topped the Limousin section at £395 for an outstanding heifer.
