Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – A much smaller show of only 350 store cattle due to the fantastic trades achieved throughout Borderway the previous few months out customers have refrained from selling anymore as the 1^st of April looms. Trade off the back of  this was exceptionally buoyant with steers averaging a healthy £1405.74 and heifers levelling out at £1344.08. topping the sale at £1980 were two Limousin cross heifers from Messrs Hartley, Turner Hall, Broughton in Furness. Messrs Boyren, Hill Park, Alverston sold his best to £1960, British Blues sold to £1840 from Messrs Moffat, Kirtlebank, Gretna on three occasions, Simmental crosses to £1750 from Messrs Salkeld, South View, Carlisle and Aberdeen Angus to £1570 from Messrs Fisher & Steele, the Keep, Carlisle. Steers peaked at £1900 from Messrs Batey, High Knells Farm, Carlisle. Limousins to £1890 from Messrs Batey, High Kneels and to £1880 from Messrs Beattie, Shield Green. Simmentals to £1790 from Messrs Irving, Thackmire, Wigton. British Blues to £1700 from Messrs Edgar, Woodhouse,, Carlisle and Aberdeen Angus to £1700 from Messrs Moffat, Kirtlebank, Gretna. Black and Whites to a days top of £1680 from Messrs Roddam, Ford lords, Carlisle for Fleckviehs, British Friesians to £1550 from Millantae Farms, Lockerbie and Holsteins to £1380 from Messrs Moffat, Kirtlebank Gretna.
