Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday, 3^rd April Harrison and Hetherington conducted the sale of early Ewe and Lambs within Borderway Mart.  A total of 297 outfits were forward and with the weather improving helped trade throughout.   Topping the sale were three Texel cross Shearling with a pair of Beltex lambs each to a total of £127 from Mr Teasdale, Ousby. Suffolk shearlings topped at £125 with single lambs again from the same home.  Mr Neil Comish from Micklethwaite, Wigton sold some Pure Texel ewes with a mixture of single and twins to £122.  Mules topped at £71 for a pen of 15 Shearlings with twin Texel lambs from Messrs Corcoran, Viewfield , Newton Stewart.  The sale averaged a very respectable £81.09 per life.  Many more could have been sold to vendors advantage,
