Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

Lockerbie Auction Market saw a blinding trade for store cattle at its fortnightly sale. Buyers came from far and wide in search of all types but especially grazing cattle. Simmental bullocks sell to 375.5ppk and Limousin bullocks sell to 364ppk from Messrs Robson, Laverockhall. Limousin Heifers sell to an unbelievable 371ppk from Messrs Wilson, The Reddings. The same home had others at 366ppk. Top price per head on the day was for 550kg bullock from Messrs Wilson, Belzies making £1720. The same home has a Limousin heifer at £1720. The same home has a Limousin heifer at £1700 and a British Blue heifer at £1700. Charolais bullocks sold to £1470 at 11 months old. The same home has a 12 month old Limousin bullock at £1580.
