Broughton April Fair Show & Sale

At Broughton Mart on Tuesday 18^th April Harrison & Hetherington held their annual “April Fair” show & sale store cattle, which saw a good quality selection of cattle from local consigners where a marvellous trade was witnessed for all classes.

The show was exceptionally judged by Mr Mark Stamper, Rose Farm, Cockermouth he placed his Champion animal, an outstanding 13month old Limousin bullock from regular consigner DJ & MJ Hoggarth, Old Hall which went to sell for £1500 to F & B Smith, The View, Masongill. The Reserve Champion was awarded to a sweet 9 month old Black Limousin Heifer from A Hartley Ltd, Turner Hall which sold for £1370 to L Skelton & Son, Low House, Ballgill. Topping the sale at £1620 for a 19 month old Limousin bullock from JC & SJ Halton, Scarr Head, Trover selling to M Cook, Hollin Hall, Ulverston. Heifers sold to £1510 for a 13m Limousin cross from A Hartley, Turner Hall Ltd selling to L Skelton & Son, Low Hall.
