Borderway Store Cattle Sale

STORE CATTLE – Another fantastic entry of 713 store cattle were forward at Borderway this Wednesday with cattle travelling from Aberdeenshire to Northamptonshire. All classes of cattle were unbelievable to sell with both buyers and sellers describing the trade as the hottest ever seen. A feature of the sale was a run of 70 exceptional 10m old Limousin cross British Blue bullocks and heifers from Lloyd Fowlie, Alford, Aberdeenshire who topped the sale at £4800 for a beauty of a British Blue cross heifer with others to £2700 with the run levelling at £1715.27 with the 33 heifers averaging £1950 infact no fewer than 19 cattle sold over £2000. 29 over £1900 31 over £1800 and 108 over £1600 with a sale average of £1402.70. Bullocks topped at £2100 for a cracking Limousin from local vendors Messrs Johnson, Low Flow, Wigton. Native cattle sold to £1800 for Aberdeen Angus bullocks from Messrs Beattie, Wysbye Mains, Lockerbie. A pair from Messrs Nixon, Ribton House, Cockermouth with heifers at £1770 for Beef Shorthorns from Messrs Stewart,, Hull Dykes. Dairy Bullocks to £1700 for Fleckviehs from Messrs Hebson, Chapel Farm.
