Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday, 1^st May Harrison and Hetherington held its weekly sale of ewes and lambs in Borderway. A larger show of 490 outfits were presented with a similar trade to last week. Topping the sale was 2 Texel hoggs with Beltex lambs at foot from NJ & JM Todhunter, Wigton selling for £141 a life. Hill sheep topped at £96 a life for Cheviots with some stunning Beltex cross lambs from LC Walton, Goodlie Hill Cottage. Texel ewes topped at £108 from G Mundell, Victoria House for a strong ewe and single lamb. Mules topped at £82 for a pen from JRG Johnstone, West Wharmley. Mules proved harder to place but were still met with good ringside competition. Shearlings topped at £132 again from NJ & JM Todhunter selling Beltex cross shearlings with single lambs.
