Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 3^rd May Harrison & Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of calves.  Another big show of 451 were forward and were met with a slightly easier trade.  Stronger calves still met with a strong demand but younger Calves met more resistance.  Topping the sale was a British Blue bull from Ling Dairies Ltd selling to £630.  Aberdeen Angus bulls topped at £620 from T & AW Wadsworth & Son, Big Balcraig.  Limousin bulls topped at £610 from CI Routledge & Partners, Carlisle.  A great run of Simmental bulls from Connell Farms Ltd were a lovely trade who sold 4 to the price of £440.  Heifers topped at £475 from R & L Austin, Upper Portrack.  Limousin heifers from JM & GJ Dockeray, Kelsick House sold to £460.  Holstein Friesians topped at £375 from Ling Dairies.  A good show was presented with buyers being cautious with younger Calves.  A reminder that our Show and Sale is on the 17^th May for calves.
