Kirkby Stephen Prime Sheep Sale -Spring Lambs

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their weekly sale of spring lambs when 153 were forward.

Topping the sale at £198 was a 46kg Beltex cross lamb from Messrs Ewin, Black Syke, Sandford.

This same home also sold a pen of 42kg Beltex lambs to make £193(459.5p/kg) and a pen of eight 44kg lambs for £190 (431.8p/kg).

Black Syke completed the trio of breed topping with a 57kg Suffolk cross lamb which made £191.

Messrs Sowerby, Terrys Farm, Ormside sold Dutch Texel cross lambs weighing 44kg to make £190 (431.8p/kg).

Messrs Trafford, Bassenthwaite Hall Farm, Keswick sold 56kg Texel cross lambs to make £190 with this same home selling 50kg Texel cross lambs to make £185.

Messrs Slee, Street House, Kirkby Thore sold a pen of 42kg lambs to make £188 (447.6p/kg).

Messrs Ewin, Black Syke sold a pen of 40kg Texel cross lambs to make £177 (442.5p/kg)

Messrs Trafford, Bassenthwaite Hall Farm sold Suffolk cross lambs to 366.7p/kg for a pen of 48kg lambs making £176.

Another fantastic spring lamb SQQ average of 372.21p/kg and overall average of 367.37p/kg was achieved.
