Kirkby Stephen Breeding Sheep Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart, held their annual New Fair Prize Show and Sale of Breeding outfits when 1603 head were catalogued.

Topping the sale at £158 per life and £316 per outfit were the first placed pen of Mule hoggs with Suffolk lambs at foot from annual local consignor Messrs Winter, Clickham Farm and was purchased by Messrs Samuel, Annan.

The first placed pen of continental hoggs with lambs was also taken by Messrs Winter which sold for £158 per life £316 per outfit and was purchased by the Judge Messrs Robson, Malton.

Swaledale topped at £98 per life, £294 per outfit from Messrs Armstrong, Ainstable purchased by Messrs Wharton, Keisley Farm.

Ewes and lambs topped at £110 per life £330 per outfit for Blue Texel crosses from Messrs Peart, Crosby Garrett purchased by Messrs Robson.

Great thanks go to our pre sale judge Brian Robson, Malton who ably carried out the judging of the Continentals and Mule classes with Jeff Burrow, Kendal judging the Swaledale classes.
