Messrs Blake, Halfway Well Limouisn cross bullocks topped at 811kg, 275.5p, £2234 to Eric Hall. Mr William Miller, High Aketon sold and outstanding Limousin cross Bullock for 511kg, 315.5p, £1612 to Owain Llyr. Messrs Studholme & Son Nealhouse Farm sold a Limousin cross bullock for 682kg, 307.5p, £2097 to Morgan Helliwell. CAST EWES & RAMS: As numbers rise, so does the trade for all classes of ewes and rams. Continental ewes sold similar on the week with plainer hill bred sheep selling dearer.
Topping today’s sale at £200 was a Texel ewe from Messrs Hennessy, Orton Rigg Farm. Closely followed by £195 was another Texel ewe from the same home. The next best at £185 was another Texel from Messrs Findlay, Easter Balgillo. Also attaining £185 was a Suffolk ewe from Messrs McSwiggan, Northern Ireland.
Topping the cast ram section at £190 was a Texel from Messrs Magee, Northern Ireland. Followed by £185 with a Beltex from Messrs Shirvington, Wood Bank.
