Kirkby Stephen Prime Sheep Sale - Cast Sheep

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their weekly Sale of prime sheep on Tuesday night, when 3,504 sheep were forward consisting of 403 spring lambs, 2,536 prime hoggs and 565 cast sheep.

The sale topped at £255 for a Texel cross ewe from G&E Livestock, Norwick

Cast rams sold to £200 for a Texel from Messrs Atkinson, Abbey Park, Bleatarn.

Mule ewes topped at £142 twice from Messrs Ewin, Black Syke, Sandford and also from Messrs Hunter, Upper Brydekirk, Annan.

Swaledale ewes topped at £126 for a pen from Messrs Wallace, Lanehead Farm, Barnard Castle.

All classes of ewes were another flying trade and many more can be sold to great advantage.
