Borderway Sale of Weaned Cattle

On Wednesday 17th May, Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of weaned cattle. Ring 4 saw 489 stirks and bulls through on its weekly Wednesday sale. Despite huge numbers trade was once again up on the week especially for grass cattle. Bulls started off the day in a good fashion for Limousins at £1380 from Messrs Hall, Baggarah Farm and Messrs Routledge, Netherton. Others sold to £1350 from Messrs Coates, Beckhall and Messrs Evans, Hallmyre. Charolais bulls also sold to £1330 from the same home. Messrs Story, New Hummersecks fantastic run of cattle topped at £1350 for Limousin Bullocks. Others sold to £1310 from Messrs Langcake, Isel Old Park and then £1240 from Messrs Hall, West Farm. Messrs Langcake topped the Limousin Heifer trade at £1400 while British Blue heifers sold to £1300 from Messrs Nixon, Longcea.

More cattle required next week as grass continues to grow.
