Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 31st May Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Dearest trade to date with a whole sale average of £315 for 300 calves sold.  Many purchasers going home empty handed.  Two suckler bred Charolais calves topped todays trading at £650 each for 2 month old calves consigned by Messrs Templeton, Glenlaugh.  British Blue calves were a dream to sell and they  averaging £433.85.  Top price Blue today was £630 from Messrs Johnstone, Petteril Side and Angus bulls topping at £580 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.  £440 was top price Fleckvieh from Messrs Heslop, Meinside and Limousin bulls topped at £395 from Messrs McKie, Stoneybrook.  Holstein Friesians topped at £310 twice from Messrs Graham, Miller Hill.

Blue heifers were a great trade at £580 twice from Messrs Gott, Burton House and Messrs Reed Mosside House.  Limousin heifers were up to £550 from Messrs McKie, Stoneybrook.  Angus heifers were sold to a top of £480 twice from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.  More calves are required weekly.
