Borderway Sale of Store Cattle

STORE CATTLE – A great entry of 308 Store cattle forward for the first week of June which also saw Borderway Market have in excess of 1200 head of cattle for sale this day.  Trade would be back to what can only be described as flying with all classes selling sharper again on previous weeks with the sale seeing 32 cattle achieve £1600 or more to a days top of £2090 for a Beef Shorthorn steer from Messrs Robinson, Gelt House, Brampton  and £1910 for another from the same home, Simmental crosses from Messrs Potter, Cardew House, Carlisle to £1920.  Limousin to £1830 for two steers from Messrs Grice, Newtown Farm, Carlisle

Heifers to a top of £1640 for a Hereford from Messrs Robley, Demesne Farm, Brampton,  British Blues to £1610 from Messrs Murray, Newby Hall, Carlisle and to £1600 from Messrs Middleton, Stone House, Wigton.

Dairy bred cattle to £1730 for a Montbelairde from Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna and £1650 for another.  Fleckvieh to £1560 from Messrs Crichton, Limekilns, Annan.  Friesians to £1540 from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Brampton and Holstein Frisians to £1440 from Messrs Magnay, Greenwrae, Gretna
