Borderway Beef Breeding Sale

On Wednesday 28^th June Harrison and Hetherington held their monthly Beef Breeding sale at Borderway Mart.  A great entry of cows and heifers with calves at foot was forward to a large ring side of buyers which ensured a very pleasing trade.

Messrs McAlister, Wester Thomaston run of five heifers and calves averaged £3580 and topped at £4200, £3800 x2 £3100 and £3000.  Messrs Hamilton, Derrie Farm run of ten outstanding heifers and calves to average £2950 and topped at £3550, £3200 £3100 (x3) £3000 (x2).  Four heifers and calves from Messrs Dickinson, High House topped at £3200 and went on to average £2912.50.  Messrs Clarke, Cringleber cows topped at £3000 and averaged £2840.  Messrs Logan Humebyres Farm sold pure Limousin bulling heifers for £2200 (x2).  The top priced British Blue x bulling heifers was shown by Messrs Johnston, Hobkin Ground Farm selling for £2000.
