Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 5^th July Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Messrs Wilson, Broomberry made the well worthy trip from Ayrshire again today to reap the rewards from the thriving calf ring.  Messrs Wilson had the top price bull calf today at £700 for a suckled bred Simmental.  Angus calves topped at £515 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower, Friesian bull calves from Messrs Sisson, Grain head sold to £290.  Messrs Bowes, Harbarrow Farm, Barrow topped the Limousin bull section at £560 and the Blues topped at £535 from Messrs Sewell, Cockermouth and Messrs Wilson, Broomberry topped the Charolais section at £570.

Heifers again met a pleasing trade with Limousin topping at £565 from Messrs Bowes, Harbarrow Farm.  British Blues heifers topped at £530 from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower they also topped with Angus at £360.   Messrs Wilson, Broomberry topped the Simmental section at £520.

Many more are required on a weekly basis to fulfil demand.
