Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their prize show and Sale of store lambs on Tuesday 1st August when 500 were on offer. Our opening show was ably judged by Jonathan Beresford who awarded the first placed Continental cross lambs to a pen of 22 Beltex crosses which sold for £98.50 from Messrs Collinson, Leekworth Gardens, Barnard Castle.
The first placed pen of Mules was awarded to a pen of 10 from Messrs Thompson, East Unthank Farm, Haltwhistle which sold for £80.50.
A packed ringside of potential buyers from near and far were present here at Kirkby Stephen which resulted in all classes and breeds being a fantastic trade and many more store lambs could have been sold to vendors advantage. Our next sale is on the 15th August with catalogue entries closing on the 8th August.
