Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 2^nd August, Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of bulls and weaned cattle.   Trade once again on the rise although bulls were fractionally back reflected by the fall in the  fat trade.

Topping the bulls and todays sale at £1410 were two outstanding Simmentals bulls from Messrs Goldsbrough, Moffat   Next at £1370 was a Limousin bull from Messrs Mounsey, Wardhall closely followed at £1360 from Messrs Henshall, Sarkshields again for a Limousin bull.

Topping the steer section at £1200 was an Angus from Messrs Atkinson, Brackenthwaite.  Limousins from Messrs Hodge, The Grove sold to £1190.  Another Angus from Messrs Cowan, Woodside at £1080.

Topping the heifers at £1100 was a Limousin heifer from Messrs Bulman, Burnhouse.  A Blonde from Messrs Atkinson, Brackenthwaite sold to £1040 and finally Messrs Mattinson, Cragg Farm, sold a Charolais heifer at £1010.
