Borderway Monthly Dairy Day

HARDBALL HEIFERS TOP THE TRADE FOR BIG BALCRAIG

An exceptional group of Holstein cows and heifers where on offer in the August Borderway Monthly Dairy Day sale.  Trade was up on the month with milkers topping at £2700 on four occasions to average £2188.   

Agri-King sponsored the sale with the top price going to the Big Balcraig herd of the Wadsworth family from Newton Stewart who were first time sellers.  This wonderful group of twelve heifers averaged £2425 with four of the heifers selling for £2700.  They were all sired by Cogent’s Delicious Charl Hardball.

The Bailie family from Hillhead of Covington sold ten cows and heifers to average £2290 and topped at £2650 for Covington Yeast Molly who was sired by Boghill Glamour Yeast.

The Wilsons from Wreaywood sold a tremendous group of cows to average over £2237 and topped at £2400 for Wreaywood Davinci Miriam.

A well bred group of Fleckvieh In Calf heifers from the Harrison family from Peddar Hill Farm topped at £1920 to average £1637.

20 Holstein bulling heifers were consigned by Lord Inglewood Farming partners, Inglewood Luster Kitty topped this section selling for £920 with the group averaging £767.
