Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 23rd August Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Top price today goes to Messrs Robinson, Burtholme who had an outstanding Limousin bull calf at £620 at four months of age.  British Blue bulls were up to £540 on three occasions from Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower.  Messrs Forrest, Meinfoot topped at £430 for a Simmental bull and first time consignor Messrs S & J Crichton, Newtonairds Farm, Dumfries topped the Angus section at £400 for a 3 month old Angus bull.  Messrs Crichton also topped the Holstein Friesian section at £380 and £330.

Heifers topped at £520 in the British Blue heifer section at £520 from Messrs Sharp, Wolsty Hall and Limousin heifers topped at £500 from Messrs Robinson Burtholme for a nice Limousin heifer.  Angus heifers topped at £435 from Messrs Irving, Brunt  Hill .

Many more are required on a weekly basis to fulfil demand.
