Borderway Sale of Store Cattle

STORE CATTLE – On Wednesday, 30th August 2023 Harrison and Hetherington Ltd held their weekly sale of Store cattle.  Over 400 cattle forward seeing trade rise once again on the week to heights nearly never seen before.  A huge ringside of buyers came forward ensuring all vendors left highly delighted.  Topping the sale overall was a superb Limousin cross steer from Messrs Stainton, The Garth, Carlisle at £1930.  Messrs Grice, Newtown, Carlisle sold three steers in the ring at once for £1740.  Simmentals to £1850 for two from Messrs Lawson, New House, Carlisle.  Charolais to £1790 from Messrs Holliday, Newbampton Farm, Wigton  and £1740 from Messrs Underwood, Longtown. British Blues to £1720 for two from Messrs Dayson, Yew Tree Carlisle.

Heifers to £1820 for two Limousin x from Messrs Wells, Hall Garth to £1780.  British Blues to £1670 from Messrs Lawson, New House, Carlisle.  Charolais to £1490 from Messrs Udale, Sideways Bank and Herefords to the same money from Messrs Graham, Barnglies, Canonbie.  Messrs McMaster, Knocknain Farm, Stranraer sold four Aberdeen Angus to £1440.  Dairy bred cattle to £1400 for Fleckviehs from Messrs Crichton, Limekilns, Annan.
