On Monday 11th September Harrison and Heatherington held its weekly sale of store lambs in Carlisle Market. Another big entry of 750 lambs went through with a seasons best average of £87.83 was achieved with the best trade being for the longer kept lambs. Topping the sale was a single Beltex lamb from Messrs Howe, Cochrane Nurseries selling for £121. This run of 58 sheep went on to average £101. Texels topped at £83.50 for a pen from J G Story, Stoneknowe. Charolais lambs topped at £82 from J LA Baxter, Monk Farm, Hexham. A great trade was witnessed with lambs being dearer than other.
Many lambs can be marketed in Borderway with buyers looking for all lamb classes.
