Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store lambs on Tuesday evening, where 490 store lambs were on offer.
Topping the sale at £110 were a pen of five Texel cross lambs from Messrs Thexton, Castlethwaite, Mallerstang.
Messrs Atkinson, Brackenthwaite Farm, Appleby sold a pen of Texel cross lambs to make £101.
Mr Hutchinson, Old Spital Farm, Barnard Castle sold a pen of eleven Beltex cross lambs to make £100, with another pen of fifteen Dutch Spotted lambs making £100 also from this home.
All classes and breeds of store lambs were dearer with an overall sale average of £82.47 being achieved for predominantly long to medium keep sized lambs being forward.
Many more store lambs could have been sold to a very strong demand!
