BORDERWAY BOOM CONTINUES AS EVERY PEN IN BORDERW IS FULL
On Monday 18th September Harrison and Heatherington held its weekly sale of store lambs in Carlisle Market.
A larger entry of 1285 head were forward with a total average of £80.62 being achieved.
Prior to the sale, a show took place which was judged by Mr James Thompson who awarded the following prizes:
1st Messrs Norman, The Bow, Great Orton - £114
2nd Messrs Norman, The Bow, Great Orton - £108
3rd Messrs Howard, Lees Hall Farm, Haltwhistle - £131
Well fleshed lambs were easy to sell to an ever growing ringside of buyers, however smaller lambs sold slightly easier on the week. Mules topped at £96 from Messrs Haigh, Whitehaven. Suffolks topped at £98 from Messrs Bell, Beech Trees for a pen of 17.
Many more new vendors are becoming regulars in Borderway, with customers leaving satisfied with their day’s trading.
