Lazonby Store Lamb Sale

On Thursday, 21^st September Harrison & Hetherington held its fortnightly sale of Store lambs in Lazonby Market.  A total of 2016 lambs went under the hammer to level out at £79.35 which is outstanding as over half the sale were mule wethers.  Topping the sale was a single Texel lamb from Jack Edgar, Fellside selling for £116 also at this price another Texel from D A Watt, Ghyll House.  Beltex lambs topped at £108 from GM Farish, High Springfield.  Mules were as good to sell as seen as John Fell, Stranger Hill brought his first consignment of 56 to sell for £94.50.  Suffolks topped at £89.50 from Robert Pickthall, Mains Farm for a pen of 61.  Swaledales topped at £52 for a pen of 27 from Anthony Wood, Moffat Cottage. Cheviots topped at £92 for a pen of 20 from Messrs Watson, Croglin Low Hall and first time vendor A G Morton, Bank Farm selling 48 for the same price.  A reminder our next sale is a Show and sale on Thursday 5^th October.
