Borderway Store & Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 25^th September Harrison and Heatherington held its weekly sale of store lambs in Carlisle Market. Another marvelous entry of 1130 head with many vendors and purchasers flocking to Borderway saw all classes a delight to sell.

230 breeding sheep sold to a top of £150 for a pen of 27 Mule Shearlings from J Nichol, Dykecroft Farm, Newcastleton. Breeding ewes topped at £142 for a pen of 12 three crop Lleyn ewes from W Jackson, Southtown of Melgund, Brechin. While aged Texel cross ewes sold to £140 for a pen of 4 from A Winter, Brow Top, Silloth.

900 Store lambs forward and topped at £115 for smart pen of 5 Beltex crosses from Messrs Graves, Hesket House. Texel lambs sold to £104 from S L & KM Preston, Pallet Hill, Penrith. Suffolk lambs topped at £114 from G Watson, Sarkside, Kirkpatrick Fleming who also sold Cheviot mule lambs to £87. Mule lambs topped at £91 for a pen of 15 from RH & EM Lord, The Bog, Slaggyford. Hill Cheviots sold to £78 from A D Scott, Dalston.
