Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 20th September Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with 401 head forward.  Limousin bulls topped at £650 for first time consignor Messrs Dalgleish, Thorniethwaite for an outstanding suckler bred calf.  Messrs Struthers, Bankhead of Balcurvie topped the Angus section at £500 and Messrs Martin, Tempest Tower topped at £580 in the Blue Section,  Simmentals were in high demand at £505 from Messrs Spence, Haregills Farming Company.  Messrs Scott. Milton Hill was up to £450 with Dairy Shorthorns.  Messrs Stephenson, Winter Tarn was up to £385 for Holstein Friesian and Holstein topped at £370 twice from Castlestead Farms Ltd, Penrith

Blue heifers were sold to £530 from Messrs Scott, Milton Hill and Limousin heifers were up to £510 from Richard Wilson, Broomberry and Messrs Austin, Upper Portrack topped the Shorthorns at £420.
