On Wednesday 20th September Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of bulls and weaned cattle. A massive show of 399 weanlings forward with a keen ring side of buyers ensuring that number are not a problem for Ring 4.
Bulls – Messrs Carruthers, Raw Foot run of bulls topped at £1740 for a Blue bull. Messrs Dale- Sunley, Ross Farm sold the top priced Limousin bull for £1520.
Steers - Messrs Wigham, Riggshields run of cattle topped at £1290 for a Blue x bullock and £1290 for a Limousin x bullock and £1280 for a pen of 4 Limousin x bullocks. JTC sold a Blue x bullock for £1270. Messrs Hall & Son Barker House sold 5 month old Charolais bullocks for £960
Heifers - Messrs Byers, Whitehills Farm, sold 2 Beef Shorthorn heifers for £1230 . Messrs Graham, Stubby Knowe sold Angus heifers for £1220 (x2). Messrs Carruthers, Raw Foot sold the top priced Blue heifer for £1210.
A good entry of 20 cows and calves topped at £1760 for a Hereford x cow and calf.
