STORE CATTLE –
On Wednesday 20th September Harrison and Heatherington held their weekly sale of store cattle which incorporated the annual special September sale of suckled calves which attracted a fantastic total entry of 1073. This event was kindly sponsored by Capontree Vets and very ably judged by noted cattle finisher Ricky Alder, Ponteland. The champion animal was the first prize lim x heifer from M/s Timm, Lowfield Farm, Leeds the heifer was much admired pre sale, she later sold for the days top call of £4000 to BT Kitson, Hutton Rudby In reserve position was the first prize British Blue bullock from M/s Robertson , Newton of Logierait , Perth which sold for the second leading price of £3000 to Lee Hopwood, Rochdale.

Outwith the show , the sale was nothing short of dazzling with a trade which satisfied vendors beyond their wildest dreams , time and time again cattle and indeed pens of cattle sailed way beyond £1600, many of these at 8-12m of age, resulting in some staggering averages , with bullocks at £1444.41 And heifers at £1319.66 giving an overall of £1366.53.
